Requirements and known limitations of YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal for HP

YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal for HP

Requirements

  • Embedded Terminal is supported only on devices with display resolution 800x480 (devices with 8" or 8,1" display)

  • Embedded Terminal is supported only on devices with full support of the OXPd 1.7.X (or a newer) platform.

  • Only devices with HTML browser are supported (Enterprise).

  • For card authentication the new HP compatible USB 3 readers are required .

  • HTTPS communication with HP MFDs does not work by default in YSoft SafeQ. The reason is that Terminal Server uses pre-installed certificate distributed with YSoft SafeQ and it is not possible to fulfill all the following conditions a security certificate must meet using the pre-generated certificate. In order to enable secure communication between HP MFDs and YSoft SafeQ, proper security certificates must exist and YSoft SafeQ must be configured accordingly. More information can be found in the configuration guide.

Known limitations

  • YSoft Payment System is not supported.

  • Authentication mode 'To each application' is not supported.

  • Terminal is not optimized for RTL languages.

  • Manual procedure for the upload of security certificate is required. For more information see Configuring HP for YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal.

  • The supported values by the terminal for property initial-screen in System settings on YSoft SafeQ web interface are 'sq', 'copy' and 'scan'. When value 'scan' is set, one of 'E-mail application', 'Open from USB application' and 'Open from Device Memory application' will be opened, with precedence in this order and based on their availability for the user at the device.

  • User defined timeout works only in the YSoft SafeQ application. In all other cases, the session is interrupted by the global device timeout. The global device timeout can be modified in EWS: General -> Control Panel Administration Menu -> Display Settings -> Inactivity Timeout” or on Control Panel and at the device by selecting “Administration -> Display Settings -> Inactivity Timeout”.
