Requirements and known limitations of YSoft SafeQ Embedded Terminal for Konica Minolta/Develop/Olivetti/Aurora

General notes

  • Embedded Terminal is a software extension of Konica Minolta devices.

  • Licensed and configured Konica Minolta OpenAPI platform at the device (OpenAPI version 3.6 or higher) is required.

  • Konica Minolta OpenAPI3 Account Map is recommended option for accounting.

  • Konica Minolta MyPanel application or web-browser support requires OpenAPI version 3.6 or higher and an iOption license.

  • Most of the printers require extended memory and hard drive for full functionality (more details in Hardware Compatibility List).

  • For precise accounting of billing codes, the devices must be able to correctly provide the Track ID information. Support for Track ID can vary per device model and firmware version. If Track ID is provided, the job is accounted with the billing code from Track ID, otherwise the job is accounted to the billing code that is currently being selected.

Known limitations

  • Terminal inactivity timeout setting in user's additional configuration is not supported. Timeout can be set directly on the machine. For more information see Konica Minolta - Configure inactivity timeout.

  • Scan jobs performed by a user with insufficient credit are accounted. This may cause discrepancy between SafeQ reports and the information in Payment System.

  • Jobs performed by Public user and jobs sent directly to printer are not accounted.

  • Users with username 'admin' or 'ce' are not supported.

  • Searchable PDF cannot be defaulted in Scanning Workflow, PDF is used instead.

  • Failover with etcd enabled or with shared DeviceConfigurationData folder is needed if you use localized keyboards or if you are experiencing issues with user IDs. Usage of etcd is preferred for all failover solutions on Konica Minolta.

  • OpenAPI 4.0:

    • Name attribute of Scan workflow parameter must not be longer than 16 characters and must contain alphanumeric characters only.

    • Value attribute of Scan workflow Administrator parameter (Default value in case of User parameter) must not be longer than 64 characters.

    • Scanning from glass takes longer with YSoft SafeQ Web Embedded Terminal for Konica Minolta

  • Native interface:

    • Simplex/duplex option for scan is not propagated from scan workflow template. Therefor, these settings has to be set manually on device's panel.

    • It is not possible to mark jobs as favorite.

    • Price of the job is not shown in history screen after it was printed but only when Payment module is enabled.

  • Browser-based interface:

    • Waiting folder is not refreshed after print. The user must navigate to another folder in order to refresh the list.

    • Scanning via WebDav is not supported.

  • The terminal might not work properly if the MFD certificate validation is enabled (configuration option enableMfdServerCertificateValidation).
