Embedded Terminal is a software extension of Ricoh devices.

Terminal requires licensed and configured Ricoh ESA™ Platform at the MFP (SDK/J version 4+).

Java Card is required to be loaded in the device (already delivered by default with newer types of Ricoh devices).

When accounting is not licensed (Reporting or Credit and billing modules), the scanning applications (both embedded and native) are not available.

Credit balance is not displayed on devices with small displays.

Print from USB is not supported with Payment System. Jobs would not be accounted.

When disconnected USB card reader is connected to the device again (or device is woke up from sleep mode), it may take up to one minute (device dependent) till the USB card reader responds again.

• Ricoh Aficio MP C3002 needs to be restarted for the USB card reader to respond again.

Accounting of scans performed via native scanning application is not supported.

Configuration options initial-screen and separatedScanWorkflows are not supported.

• When Print Roaming and Scanning is not licensed, YSoft SafeQ is still opened after authentication and user has to switch to a copy menu manually.

On devices without paper size sensor (most of the A4 models, e.g. Ricoh Aficio MP 171, Aficio MP 171 SPF, Aficio MP C400 Series, Aficio MP 201, Aficio MP 201 SPF, Aficio MP 301 Series, Aficio MP C300 Series, Aficio SP 5200S + Aficio SP 5210SF + Aficio SP 5210SR, MP C305 SP, Aficio MP C305 Series, MP C401 Series etc.) the following behavior may occur:

• Every even page may be rotated by 180 degrees in the resulting file when scanning from automatic document feeder (ADF) to JPEG format.

• Every even page may be rotated by 180 degrees in the resulting file when scanning manually from glass to multiple TIFF files or to a single TIFF file. Note that duplex option for scanning from glass makes no sense.

Ricoh Aficio MP C300/C400 Series:

• Duplex scanning from ADF (automatic document feeder) works properly for MultipagePDF/TIFF, other output file types may have every other page rotated upside down.

It is only possible to log out from YSoft SafeQ Application using hardware button on SDK/J devices. To log out after copying, user first needs to navigate to the YSoft SafeQ Application. Native software logout button does not work on Android devices.

When Color access rights are restricted, a color job sent via a secure queue is in status Cancelled instead of Rejected. Jobs printed via a direct queue are in status Rejected.

It is possible, that device will copy more pages than allowed by credit balance.Therefor, registration of debt has to be allowed in the YSoft SafeQ Payment System. Otherwise, user would be able to continue copying even after using up credit.

A direct print job might not be printed if the embedded terminal communicates with the CML (resp. the ORS) through a proxy server or a network load balancer.

SNMP v3 is not supported.

If the MFD is unable to detect the paper size automatically, scan cannot be made.
